Based on the significant negative correlation between the relative luminescence intensity of luminous bacteria and the total concentration of toxic components in water samples (P≤0.05), the relative luminescence intensity of luminous bacteria in water samples can be measured by the luminescence intensity of bacteria, so as to indicate the acute toxicity level of luminous bacteria. The acute toxicity level of water quality was characterized by the equivalent reference concentration of mercury chloride per substance (in g/ child), or by the EC50 value (half effective concentration: in sample percentage concentration).
